Dr.Suess all day long!

It's a known fact that we simply love Dr.Suess! We are addicted to D.Suess! Not only are his books are silly and funny but they are the best books to improve the child's reading speed and confidence!

Here is a picture of Rehaan reading Dr.Suess while I was in a work meeting!! He was reading so well and fast! In his words "I can read Dr.Suess all day long"!! I am so proud of him!! He is an example for so many of our friends as they all get inspired by him to learning to read!

Other than reading and having laughs, Dr.Suess imparts valuable lessons to kids about life!

Sunday Morning Brain Workout

When I tested for my IQ test a few weeks back I was not good at pattern and block pattern manipulatives and depth perceptions so mommy got me these manipulatives and now I have improved a lot! These exercises will make my brain cells stronger to make decisions faster and make smarter logical deductions!

What is the difference between seals and sea lions

I saw a lot of sea lions at Anacapa Islands but they looked just like seals so I asked mommy what is the difference between a sea lion and a seal?

Seals are furry where as sea lions are mostly skin-covered.
Sea lions have small flaps for outer ears where as seals lack external ears altogether.
Sea lions are noisy. Seals are quieter.

You can read more about them here: http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/seal-sealion.html

Channel Islands National Park

My family and I went to Channel Islands National Park. We had the most amazing time visiting the islands and watching all wild life. We saw the following animals in wild -

scrub jay
dolphins
sea lions
humpback whales
brown pelican
blue whale
island fox
raven
western sea gull

My favorite animal was baby chicks of the western sea gull. They looked funny with polka dots. Their eggs also had dots.

I also hiked 2 miles on Anacapa island along with my mom. It was scary because there were so many birds protecting their nests along our path but we did it.

I also got my first junior ranger badge. I completed all the questions on the junior ranger workbook and also took my pledge to protect my national park.  Mommy was so proud of me, so she got me a sea animals gift set that I love to play. It is my favorite toy now.

I got to see eggs on a nest very close to me with the mommy bird watching it.
